In Slovenia, X. crassiusculus was found casually in traps during a survey for early detection of the walnut twig beetle,Pityophthorus juglandis Blackman. On 1 August 2017, 117 reddish-brown beetles were caught in a trap in Podsabotin. Shortly after two beetles were foundalso in the sample collected from Prvačina. Herewith Slovenia is the fourth European country with X. crassiusculus, probably arrived by dispersal from Italy. The findings were recently published by ANDREJA KAVČIČ in First record of the Asian ambrosia beetle, Xylosandrus crassiusculus (Motschulsky) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Scolytinae), in Slovenia, Zootaxa 4483 (1): 191–193 (https://doi.org/10.11646/zootaxa.4483.1.9)
