Parco del Circeo invites you to a new pruning course on 25 and 26 November.

The course includes a 5-hour classroom part in which the notions of:

• tree ecology, distribution area, environmental and territorial adaptations;
• biology and physiology of the tree: the organs that compose it, metabolic and energy needs;
• notions of arboriculture: response of the tree to pruning cuts, codit theory and compartmentalization;
• LIFE SAMFIX project: problems related to the presence of pathogenic insects of the genus Xylosandrus and mechanical control actions through pruning.

   

  The following activities will take place in the field:

• training pruning of the first year at the time of planting;
• breeding pruning;
• pruning of reform and adversity and pathologies related to cultural practices and cesore;
• pruning of young / adult specimens that can be reached from the ground with the aid of telescopic rods;
• pruning of young / adult specimens using ladders and specific PPE with working techniques in total safety.

The activities are scheduled for the following dates:

• 25/11/2021 – module in the classroom in presence;
• 11/26/2021 – demonstration module in presence.

The course is free, and is aimed at green operators in the municipalities in the Circeo National Park, at the nursery workers of the Carabinieri Forestali Biodiversity department of Fogliano, and at nurserymen.

The training will take place at the direction of the Circeo National Park for the theoretical part and at the Forestry nursery for the practical part. To book you must send an email to segreteria@parcocirceo.it.
