The project LIFE SAMFIX kicked-off with a meeting between all partners on July 19-20th at the Circeo national park. A lot of preparatory work is currently in course focusing on the development of an initial lure-based beetle trapping protocol, the preparation of protocols for the detection, identification and determination of pathogenicity assessment of alien fungi associated to Xylosandrus compactus, the set-up of an X-platform and mobile apps for invasion control and the development of a communication strategy and tools. Shortly stakeholders will be contacted to engage in the experimentation of prevention, early warning, eradication and containment protocols that will kick-off in spring 2019.
